This is Bujagali Falls, just outside town, near where I stayed for the weekend:
You can go rafting or kayaking down waterfalls and rapids, but some locals go down just holding onto a jerrican! CRAZY!
This swing overlooks the Nile just below. These kids were so adorable!
Sign by the road that I don't quite comprehend..
Hands down the best breakfast burrito I have ever had in my life. It's called a "rolex" and is a chapati wrap (instead of tortilla) filled with egg, meat, avocado, onion, and cabbage. AMAZING.
View from the nearby bar we hung out at
And FINALLY, pictures from grade-5 white water rafting!
This was one of my favorite rapids, a waterfall called 'Overtime':
(To help direct your laughter, I'm the middle person on the right side of the raft, wearing the red cap under my helmet. As you can see, I am clutching the rope for dear life.)
What just happened? I blacked out for a second.
Some nice, calm pictures:
Another favorite rapid, called 'Vengeance':
We lost a lot of people overboard, but this is the one time we actually tipped over... not ideal since I don't know how to swim... but thank God for life jackets!
I'm the red helmet on the left. I managed to hang onto the raft the entire time but almost got sucked under the raft, which would have induced massive panic. I was okay though!
Those are the highlights. I'm going to try kayaking the rapids next, so more good times to come. Stay tuned!
You really need to learn how to swim
ReplyDeleteI'm really impressed you did this w/ your swimming skills!!
ReplyDeletecraaaaap. You were right, I should have made sure to teach you to swim before you left! gah! (I'm so impressed at your fearlessness... I'm an awesome swimmer and that woulda freaked me out a bit)
